The woven kente box

The forest body is sculpted as an over-under basket weave. Its charcoal lid carries a raised red kente mandala of zigzags, a diamond chain, a ladder ring and chevrons around a stepped knob. Pair it with a geometric tag or a message from your family.

About the design
Designed in three dimensions
Woven by hand, in layers
Rounded strands pass over and under upright stakes all the way around the forest body, like a hand-woven basket. A raised kente mandala of zigzags, a diamond chain, a ladder ring and chevrons, with a stepped knob, prints in a second color as part of the one-piece charcoal lid, which rests on the rim by its beveled underside.
