The rose teapot box
Tea for two, kept forever.
A squat porcelain teapot with rose-pink transferware sprays of cabbage roses and buds on its belly, a row of pink pearls under the rim and a scalloped band above the foot. A swan-neck spout with a pink lip and a spurred handle with a pink thumb rest complete it, and the domed lid lifts by a rose of upright petals inside a garland of little roses.

Tea for two, kept forever
A squat porcelain teapot on a foot ring, with transferware sprays of cabbage roses, rosebuds and leaves on both sides of its belly, a row of pearls under the rim and a scalloped band above the foot. The swan-neck spout and the spurred handle are fused to the body and shaped to print without supports; the sprays, pearls, band, the spout’s lip and the thumb rest print in a second color as part of it. The domed lid carries a garland of little roses and a rose of thin, upright petals for a knob in the same color. It rests on the rim by its beveled underside. Decorative storage; not for tea or liquids.
