About the design

Their face, in the light

Your photo becomes a white lithophane in an arch-top frame, rising from a rounded base with a ring for a battery tea light. Dark areas print thicker and bright ones thinner, from 3 mm down to 0.8 mm, so with the light on the photo appears in warm light and shadow. It prints upright in one piece with no supports. Choose a photo to see it glow in the preview; we send a proof before printing.

The light as it stands, base included. The photo window is 76 x 100 mm with an arched top; a standard 38 mm battery tea light sits in the ring behind it.

Printed in plain white matte PLA, the one material that lets the light through evenly: thin areas glow and thick areas hold the shadows. Colored, silk and glitter filaments would muddy the photo.

A clear, well-lit photo works best; faces and eyes should be sharp. It is sent only with your inquiry, never shown publicly, and we send a proof before printing.
