About the design

Designed in three dimensions

Wrapped, forever

Polka-dot paper wraps the square box, with a ribbon carrying two fine grosgrain ribs down the middle of every side. On the lid the ribbon crosses, two swallowtail tails lie along the front and two open ribbon loops rise from an oval knot. Each loop is a ring of ribbon stood on edge, its outer edge climbing steeply and its opening coming to a point, so it prints without supports. The ribbon, tails and bow print in a second color as part of each piece, and the lid turns to line its ribbon up with the box. It rests on the rim by its beveled underside.
