About the design

Designed in three dimensions

The cake that keeps

Three tiers in two parts. Pearls circle the foot of the bottom tier, piped swags hang from rosettes and a cascade of sugar roses and leaves tumbles down its front onto the pleated middle tier, which stands on a flat ledge with a ribbon round its foot and a row of pearls under its rim. The lid is the middle tier’s frosted top with a pearl border, carrying the whole top tier with its own ribbon and piped edge and a rose of thin, upright petals. The roses, rosettes and ribbons print in a second color as part of each piece. It rests on the rim by its beveled underside. Not edible.
